I really believe there are things nobody would see if I didn't photograph them. ~Diane Arbus

"The Weather Owl". Not at all attractive and hasn't predicted the weather in many, many years. He sits on my window sill, just as he did at Pappy Frohnheiser's house. He used to turn a light blue or blue/green color to signify the day's weather. I never could remember which color meant what, but Pappy never seemed to mind telling me every time I asked.
The weather really doesn't matter, because the sun is always shining in my heart when I think of Pappy and "the Weather Owl". :)
(Sorry to ramble. Just trying to help you "see" the beauty in something so "unattractive".)
